Early Ship Diarama (SOLD)
Early ship diarama depicting a schooner dock near a shoreline. Hand tied rigging with paper sails and painted wooden hull. The background features a mix of blue and ochre paint representing a sunset. The casing is constructed of wood with vertical sawn backboards with two battons and a combination of early nail and screw construction in original black paint. One side has a small piece of wood missing but does not show when hanging. Displays extremely well over a fireplace and has evidence of being hung near one for a good portion of it life. Probably New England. First half of the 19th C. 23"W x 5 3/8" D x 21"T.
