A 19th C. hand painted American game board in an exquisite array of colors. The front exhibits a bold and inviting playing field with filigree painted corners. The revers features a colorful array of decoration surrounding a painting of brook and foliage. Applied pine moulding with square nail construction. In an as-descended surface and untouched state of condition. A true rarity in early American folk art.Northeast origin. Ca.1860. 21 1/2" Square.
