19th c. Figured Maple Walking Cane (SOLD)

19th c. Figured Maple Walking Cane (SOLD)

A 19th c. tiger maple walking cane in original varnished finish.

Constructed from a single board of very fine and tightly figured tiger maple wood. Shaped with a thin profile and faceted on eight sides with a nicely chamferred handle atop.

Quality craftsmanship is rooted in its design and formation. Careful attention was paid to faceted edges with tight organized lines. The appearance is delicate, yet extremely strong due its makers choice of wood.

Remains in superlative original condition showing an extremely attractive array of varied color in its graining.

New England. Ca. 1875. 35"L.
