A 19th c match safe in original mustard and red paint. 
Constructed from a block of lathe turned maple wood in a barrel form with pronounced turnings sitting above a heavily turned base. 
Retains a very pleasing paint surface with very light in-period wear. Excellent condition, free from fissures and cracks.
