19th c. Native American Miniature Berry Basket
A miniature 19th C. Native American berry basket .
Constructed of hand cut and shaved ash wood dyed with natural pigments and woven in a plain plaited pattern with a single coiled rim. A thinly tapered handle terminating in a small tapered block adorns is woven into the body. Retains an extremely attractive oxidized color with a very historic presence. Excellent as-descended condition.
A charming size at merely 3 1/4"T. Eastern Algonquian origin. Ca. 1860.
