19th c. Redware Soap Dish (SOLD)
A 19th c. redware soap dish.
The body is chalice shaped with a bowl sitting atop a large footed base. Produced with a dark manganese colored glaze and features nine circular holes forming a diamond shaped array for drainage.
Survives in excellent original condition, free from hairlines or chips and shows appropriate crazing to the glaze. A scarce form.
New England, possibly NH in origin. Ca. 1850. 4 1/8"W x 2 3/4"T.
