Late 19th c. Shenandoah Valley Basket

A late 19th c. twin bottom egg basket constructed of delicate ash wood weavers around a milti ribbed ash wood frame.

 

The carrying handle is reinforced and nicely decorated with plain plaiting weaving. Remains in an excellent state of condition with a mellow oxidized color and quality historic surface characteristics. Shenandoah Valley, VA origin. Ca. 1890. 11"T x 14"W.
