Scarce Diminutive Gameboard (SOLD)
A scarce diminutive sized wooden gameboard in original red paint.
Constructed from a thick plank of pine wood with a series of 25 evenly spaced hand bored holes for playing a variant of solitare, a puzzle game, in which pegs are jumped and removed to reach a single remaining peg.
Applied pine wood moldings are attached with a series of small iron square nails, each featuring astragal molding with a single quirk bead facing the face of the board. The original drop brass ring remains at the top for hanging and is attached with a tiny clinched wire.
Remains in superb originsl condition with only the most minimal amount of wear. The historic surface properties are extrodinarily....crazing and craquelure run wild theought the entire face of the board and convey a lengthy and cared for descent through time. Gameboards of early origin in this condition, size and unusual proportion dont commonly surface.
