Soapstone Match Holder
19th C. soapstone match holder in an unusual form. Carved from a single piece of soapstone, it is incised carved with initials "HML" in the front and dated 1893 on the left side. The right side has a square cutout serving as a match striker. The top has a carved notch serving as a tray to hold the matches. A very unusual piece and in very good condition. 6 1/8"W x 3 7/8"D x 4"T.
