A 19th C. watercolor depicting building architecture in a variety of paint colors. Shown is the rear of the Merchant’s Exchange Building in Philadelphia. Designed by Philadelphia resident and leading architect William Strickland, this building was erected as a centralized location for trade and commerce being built 1832-1834. Very good original condition and housed in a period appropriate frame. Ca. 1840. 12"W x 10 1/2"T.
