An early diminutive sized lidded box in original blue/green paint. Pine wood constructed with iron nails and dovetailed joining. Depicts a graphically appealing series of paintings with subject matter relating to children’s toys, perhaps suggest use as a toy box for a small girl. Retains a very well-aged finish exhibiting wonderful craquelure. A choice blend for size, surface and folk art appeal. New England. Ca. 1830. 10"W x 5 1/4"D x 4 1/2"T.
