A 19th c. Philadelphia manganese glazed teapot attributed to Thomas Haig Pottery.
Made of molded earthen clay with a swelled shoulder and applied strap handle. Bead work impressed decoration accentuates the body. Its lid is lipped and features large incised centric circles surmounting the finial.
The form is popularized by common imports of English cermaics in dark glazes and fine forms of the late 18th and early 19th c. 
Survives on structurally sound condition with chipping to its lid and minor spout wear. Early in its life a small crack appeared at its base and was glued to prevent further spread and to uphold its retention of liquid. An interesting and charming minor make-do type repair.
