A 19th c. pitcher attributed to Essex County, Massachusetts production. 
Potted from densely procured clay and potted with an inverted tapered form. An applied strap handle with pointed termination is attached to its upper lip of the rim. 
Glazed in a dark brown over an orange ground and fired at a higher temperature creating a dark brown/green color and mottled effect. 
Pitchers with this profile, handle placement, glaze, refinement and size match exisiting examples attributed to Beverly or Danvers. 
Remains in excellent original condition with one small very old chip in its base and is free from restoration.
