19th c. Hat Rack
A scarce 19th c. hanging wooden hat rack in oyster white paint over original red primer.
Constructed of shaped wooden walnut slats and jointed to pivot to an adjustable length. Hat pegs are constructed of oak wood being shaved and shaped to a lightly bulbous body with a neatly chamfered head. The splined pegs are secured with small early iron square nails reassuring structural integrity.
Retains wonderfully aged oyster white paint with fine surface qualities and anomalies.
Superb original condition being as-descended with extemely light wear.
