19th c. Miniature Chest of Drawers

A 19th c. miniature chest of drawers in original red paint.

Constructed from pine wood with an overhung top and arched feet cutouts. It features three pine wood drawers fitted with black painted iron mushroom knobs applied through the face with each drawer containing butt joinery with iron tacks. A heavily chamfered back is applied to its back with iron nail joining.

Retains original red paint completed with an original varnish finish providing a mellow color. Survives in excellent structural condition with signs of historic wear and use from a childs use. A few scattered old anomalies are present on its top.

Charming in size with functional capabilities. For the collector who values small treen as well as furniture.

Northeast origin, probably New England. Ca. 1885. 9 1/2"T x 6 1/2"D x 8 1/4"W.
