19th c. Tiger Maple Chalice
A 19th c. wooden chalice in old surface.
Constructed of lathe turned tiger maple wood and formed in a chalice shape with a deeply shaped bowl atop a stem accented with a medial knopf. A generously sized foot adorns the base exhibits extremely fine lathe turning marks.
Survives in an extremely well-preserved state of condition with a mellow surface blended with rich color from its wood grain.
A pleasantry for the collector appreciative of fine workmanship of treen and quality wood grain.
