Cashier Sign (SOLD)

An early 20th c. wooden sign in original chocolate brown and oyster white paint.

Constructed from a plank of pine wood and beveld on all frontal edges. A chocolate brown base layer was applied over the entirety and overpainted delightfully with oyster white paint depicting its subject.

Simple and stately painted, directing your attention to checkout at what was likely a general goods store.

Superlative original condition with a short modern mounting wire on its reverse. As obviously seen, the painted surface is beyond remarkable with depth and the perfect crazing and paint shrinkage defining perfect aging.

A charming small sized sign for the collector seeking an absolute best for paint retention and historical surface.

American. Ca. 1910. 12 1/8"W.
