Early Candle Dipper/Dryer
A 19th c. candle dryer/dipper in original oxidized surface.
Cleverly constructed entirely of maple wood and accommodates seven iron rods for dipping of early candles. Its body is joined via rabbeted corners secured with early iron nails and features neatly dressed handles at both ends with chamfered edges for comfort.
Each rod sits in a hand drilled slot and is removed via an applied wooden arm pinned with an early iron screw at one terminal end, creating swinging access to remove the rods for work.
Remains in excellent original condition with a fine oxidized and patina acquired surface.
Unusually well made and a good accessory to compliment a lighting collection.
