Early Horn Cup

Early Horn Cup

An early horn cup constructed from cow horn with an applied handle.

Produced in a taller cylindrical form with an applied bone base with rippled turning decoration. Inising decoation adorns the body with thin, tightly spaced rings.

Its applied handle is attached via three small brass rivets and wonderfully formed from a split ledge near the rim.

Successfully formed and highly unusual with an energetic presence.

American. Ca. 1830. 3 1/2"T.
