An early large sized turned bowl in old apple green paint over original sky blue. 
Lathe turned from a large body of maple wood. The interior is smooth turned and oxidized in color displaying an enormous array of chopping marks from food preparation. Step turning markers on the exterior are attractive with a layered array sitting below a sharply turned astragal shaped lip. Undulation of the rim is light. 
Most notably, a large array of kerf marks remain on its base from termination of the chuck block leaving an organic appeal at its manufacture. 
The present layer of apple green remains vibrant with historic wear and quality surface elements. 
Remains in structurally sound condition with a shrinkage crack as shown and remains very consistent with age, use, and capability of rural colonial craftsmanship.
