Early Shaved Broom (SOLD)

A 19th c. shaved broom in original surface.

Constructed of birch wood and carved from the solid with lengthy bristles folded back and braided in place. The braiding conplexity consists of two shaved strands intermixing together and holding the bristles firmly.

A notched handle termination also features a simple braided decoration made of thinly shaved birchwood.

Remains in excellent original condition with fine surface elements remaining.

Northeast origin. Ca. 1800-1850. 24 1/2"L.
