A 19th c. miniature stoneware jug produced by the Edgar Allen Poe Company.
Produced with a wheel thrown body and features a bittle shaped neck and lip top with a chamfered edge. An apllied strap handle accompanies the body and features a tightly curved profile. The base being cut from the turning wheel flat. 
The Edgar Allen Poe Company was a producer of bricks in the Fayetteville and surrounding area and employed a series of unknown potters to produce pottery and brickwork which was then sold to wholesalers. Of the pottery produced, examples vary in glaze colors and sizes. 
This particular example features handle attachment and shape matching other full size examples bearing the "POE & CO" stamp. 
Excellent condition with mottling from temperature variation from firing.
