Rare 19th c. Slip Decorated Table Salt
A rare 19th c. redware salt dish with yellow slip decoration.
Potted free form with a coggled edge and raised sides identical to a full size loaf dish. Slip decoration and a lead glazed interior adorns the interior with wavy lines of slip above a single yellow dot.
Likely made as a small salt dish to sit table top and serve as the master dish.
Survives in a superb state of original condition with undisturbed surface elements present on its glaze.
Formerly in the private collection of Ted Hayward; private New England collection.
